At the South Portland terminal, Sprague Energy invested in the nation’s first solar storage tank which now produces an average of 119,107 kWh per year. True Enterprises applied thin-film panels, with light-weight adaptability to unique surfaces and the highest impact tolerance, directly to the tank’s roof. Since installation, Sprague has lowered their operating costs significantly and offset carbon emissions earning them the Sustainable Impact Award at the Annual Global Tank Storage Awards.
